Piano Lesson

We enrolled the Burritos into piano lessons. They have their first lesson last Friday night at  Torrance Music Studios.  The teacher was very nice, she made the  Burritos very comfortable although the  Little Mister wanted to run around the whole time.  Ms. Burrito did pretty well.
The good thing about the  schedule we picked is that, only the two are the students for that specific time.  The rest of the students goes on specific days which we can't attend.
The Piano teacher gave them three books, the theory, writing, and lesson books  The Writing books is for Mr. Burrito and the  two is for the Miss.  I like it that they can bring the book home as I can practice for myself when the kids are in school.

I like this Music poster they hanged in the wall.
The lesson is once a week ( Fridays) for 30 minutes for each student.  With books and monthly fee, we paid $125 for both of them.  It cost $13 for 30 minutes for each child which is a fair amount as the price  where we bought the piano, they charge a couple of dollars more and it's far.  This one where we enrolled them to, it is only 15 minutes from our home.

I have zero knowledge about piano so I did a little digging and read some about it.  Let me share this article of a famous  piano performer, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, that I found  online:

"Mozart, born on 27th January, 1756 in Germany, is a pianist and musician of the classical era. He is known to have composed more than six hundred works including numerous symphonies, concertos, operas and choral music. Mozart started composing music at the age of five and by the time he was seventeen, he was a court musician and performing before royalty in Salzburg. Mozart style of music ranged from the light and the graceful to the dark and the passionate. His music greatly influenced the western art music including great pianists like Beethoven. Mozart died very early, in the year 1791."

  2. I hope your children enjoy piano. My daughter didn't want to take piano lessons but she learned to read music from books I bought for her and from voice lessons. She can play piano better than I can and I did take piano lessons as a child. Carver, ABC Wed. Team

  4. Every night I go to sleep listening to Piano Music. I have several tapes, and love how a piano relaxes me and I fall to sleep listening to some beautiful music. I especially like songs from some of the Broadway Musicals.

I think this so wonderful that you are doing this for your children.

  7. It's really great that you brought your kids to a piano lesson. Starting to hone their talent at a very early stage is the key to become a piano virtuoso.

I started when I was only 5 but had to stop around 9 because we moved somewhere else. I still play once in a while but I'm so rusty. I think I will need some piano lessons too - back to the basic! :)

  13. This is one thing I want to learn and share with my kids.
I think the price you got for the lesson is just fine. The instructor's attention won't be divided much since they are only two in class.
The Burritos will be just fine, they're both smart kids. Along the way mommy will learn too. God bless you all.

  14. Well Rose you have outdone yourself again. Now I added you to my blog roll. I think I already had one site.

I took piano and I loved it. I think all children should have the opportunity to learn about music and yes the orange shirt is very cool!

These pictures are just marvelous. Please keep them coming and keep us all smiling!
