Artfully Improving Health Through Science

I mentioned in my previous post that my husband is on  the "Biggest Loser" program that the company he is working for  is sponsoring.  He has been working out and eating healthier now so he lost  16 lbs already since I wrote the article about the detox product that we have.  The said  products works great on him as it boost his energy  but it is making him to break out so he stop using that and now he is  pimple free so we know that that was the cause of his break out.
Anyhow, here's his  recent photo after losing  16 pounds.  Saturdays is his cheat day, I sometimes cook food that has more than the calories that he needs and yesterday, we decided to treat him at Eat N' Park.
On the other note, I have been hitting the outdoors for my run too.  Although we have been  getting  cold weather surprises from here and there, I still run outside as I prefer to breath fresh air more than running  at our treadmill in the basement.  I weighed 97.8 when I started and I am down to 94.4 lbs now.
Aside from working out, I also got this weight management dietary supplement from Herbtheory.  This helps to promote  optimal weight when accompanied by diet and exercise.  This is vegan, gluten-free, wild-crafted herbs, and non-GMO.   Herbtheory is committed to providing the absolute best quality condition specific herbal supplements, hence, artfully improving health through science.  I love that it's non-GMO and gluten-free.  So far, hubby has been taking this and working good as he is trying to lose weight.  He lost 18 pounds already since his weight loss  journey started.  Taking these supplements at the same time exercising and trimming down your diet really works.
It feels so good to be back  in my fitness routine once again.  I feel stronger as I don't run out of breath so easily when I  do my runs.  I hope that I can keep this up.   Hubby and I  promised each other to  eat healthy from then on and keep our healthy lifestyle so we could be there for our  children when they each have their own families.

Outdoor Fun... to the Woods We Go

Our children are off from school for Easter break from Thursday of last week till Wednesday this week. The weather last Monday was great so we did a little exploration at the nearby woods to break some sweat out of our bodies.
It was a perfect time because  there were no mosquitoes around since the  land was dry and the trees  have not grown fully just yet.  We were in full alert though just in case there are some snakes lurking around, luckily we did not see any.  We saw some snake holes though but no snake, thanks goodness.
It's always  great to break these two away from gadgets.. but.. as you can see my daughter has her iPod with her and that's because she wanted to take pictures and record  a video of  our journey which I did not mind.
She took a lot of pictures and , on the other hand took pictures of them as we  went hehehe.  They were amazed how  woodpecker can dig  deep in the tree.
Mr. Burrito was testing his balance skill on this long branch that fell.
Exploring the woods is something that we always love to do during warm weather  because  it help us physically and it is a great bonding too.  Aside  from that, it is also educational as they get to see things that mother nature has to  offer that a lot of kids nowadays only sees on TV as they are not into  this kind of activities.
We rand  and had fun hiking.  Little brother is always ready to  help big sister.  She tok a video of her running down and climbing up, it was funny.
This is the end of our fun-journey.  We saw a lot of birds, deer track and poop, and we enjoyed the breath of fresh air.  Thanks to God for the beautiful day! Glad we were able to enjoy the warm weather because it got cold again  for the past couple of days.  I wish to have one of those playsets in stafford va from  here  for the summer.  Our trampoline is the only thing we have in our backyard and it isn't enough.

How to Look Stylish While Working Out

For lots of people, looking good isn't their priority while they're exercising. However, for some people, this is important, and can make or break their decision to work out. While getting fit isn't all about looking your best, there are still some things you can do to make sure you're looking stylish while you exercise, so you can feel comfortable and confident wherever you are and whatever form of exercise you choose to do.

At the gym, most people don't worry about wearing makeup, as it's pretty much a given that if you're working hard, you'll be sweating too much for makeup to stay in place. Everyone is in the same boat, so don't feel self conscious, but if you really can't bear to go without, a slick of waterproof mascara should be all you need, as you'll be getting a healthy glow from the exercise already. Pull your hair back into a chic high ponytail to keep it out of your way, and if you have a fringe, pin it back.

As for sportswear, it's now possible to get some extremely fashionable, attractive pieces. Sports firms have been working hard to create sportswear that is more flattering and interesting than clingy black Lycra, so you can choose from the vast array of yoga pants, casual hoodies and vibrant vest tops on offer. If you're going for specialist sportswear, many companies now offer stunning designs for all sorts of sports gear, from women cycle jerseys to swimsuits, so you needn't feel dowdy just because you're working out.

The important thing to remember is that comfort should take precedence over fashion. It's certainly not elegant to spend an hour hobbling around a running track because you've chosen the wrong shoes.  Running shoes don't need to be chunky; there are lots of good, lightweight, flexible varieties on offer which may actually be better for your feet as they allow them to move more naturally, and they look more feminine on the feet.

Remember that as you get hot, you might want to remove a layer, so think about what you have on underneath your sweatshirt or hoodie. A simple, fitted vest top stops you from looking frumpy and bigger than you are and is less likely to be a nuisance when you're working out, so get rid of any baggy t-shirts and opt for a sleeker, slinkier silhouette for a more glamorous workout look.

How to Squeeze Back Into Your Summer Clothes The Healthy Way

Summer is just around the corner, which means it’s time to get out the dresses, skirts and bikinis. If you’re one of the many women dreading baring all in the sunshine then you’re probably looking for ‘get fit quick’ schemes or complex dieting plans. Stop searching now! We’ve got all the best tips for squeezing back into those summer clothes, the healthy way.

Track your goals
One of the best pieces of advice we can give you is to keep track of your goals. There are tons of free apps and trackers available; that can help you do this quickly and easily. Websites and apps such as My Fitness Pal can get you on the right track to losing weight, by monitoring what you eat and how much exercise you do. Simply put in your current weight and height, followed by your goal weight and how long you have to lose it. You’ll then be given a calorie goal to follow, along with plenty of advice and support from other members. Keep an eye on what you’re eating, and you’ll quickly pick up ways to cut down on calories and fat.

Use photographic evidence

This is the perfect way to motivate yourself during those times when you feel tempted to binge eat. You need to find a picture of yourself from last summer, in your favourite bikini or dress and then take a picture of yourself in your underwear now. You can merge the two together using a basic computer program, like Paint, and then see how it makes you feel. Chances are you’ll be desperate to get back to that beach body! Next time you feel like snacking or missing out on that run, take a look at the pictures again. For extra motivation take pictures of yourself every week you’re losing weight; you’ll soon see a big difference.

Get outside
Losing weight isn’t just about cutting out certain foods, it’s all about the exercise too. Spring and Summer are the perfect excuses to get out into the sunshine and exercise more than you usually would. You don’t need to start running 5k every morning, but a few walks around the block every week is a good start. See if there are any local classes that take part outside in parks or fields. You tend to find aerobics, yoga and even dance classes are all taken outdoors when the sun comes out.
A little extra help

If you’re really struggling then consider a little extra help to kickstart that weight loss. There are plenty of healthy supplements out there that can boost metabolism and suppress hunger. Some of the best ones out there will tend to have lots of positive reviews and experiences on the internet, so do some digging first. Search for things such as green coffee bean max review and see what other people have been saying about certain products. Once you’ve found one with a good amount of reviews order a small sample and see how it works for you.

There’s no need to jump aboard the cabbage soup diet or workout for four hours every day, if you know the real ways that help you lose weight. Follow our useful guide and you’ll be back in those bikinis in no time!

Sweet Flouncing Sleeve Dress and a Jumpsuit from Sammy's Dress

I am so privileged to receive two more  outfit to review from Sammy's Dress. I chose the  Sweet Flouncing Sleeve dress with belt embellishment  and trendy color block polka dot print splice slimming summer jumpsuit.  The last  time I wore  a romper-type of  clothing was when I was in my early twenties so it's kind of a new thing for me to wear a jumpsuit but love it!

The trendy color block polka dot print splice slimming summer Jumpsuit is on sale for $6.76.  IT's  a one size  and  available in  Hyacinth  color and white.  I was hesitant to order this because the last time I ordered a one size clothing, it ended up very  long and a bit big but glad that this one fits perfectly for me.
This  Sweet Flouncing Sleeve dress with belt embellishment is perfectly cut for my body's size.  I feel young and girly with this one hehehe.  The lining  underneath gives the bottom part a volume and the  black  at the bottom gives the dress a plus factor.
I wore the jumpsuit to church yesterday as the weather was beautiful and it  match my daughter's  color a little bit.  THe photos below was taken at KMart and not at the church though hehehe.
Thank you so much once again Sammy's Dress.  If you want top shop for an affordable summer dresses, just visit the site through the links in this post or through the banner on the side bar of this blog.  Thank you for commenting.

Fashion Lady Flower Print Variety Wear Deep V Beach Dress #TMart

I have these set of swimwear from a giveaway that I won from last year but I have never worn this yet.  I just don't have the guts..errr.. let me rephrase that "I have no confidence wearing this because of my big guts" lol.  I love this set but unfortunately  I can't wear it without something that would cover it.
When you are  in the 40s, you don't want to show so much skin (at least from my own opinion).  Unless of course, you have  a beautiful body to show off but if you are like me with "rolls", you would always hide those  undesirable bumps lol.
But anyway,  I mentioned in my post here that I have another products arriving from TMart to review.   So for me to be able to use my  swim wear  above, I got this    Swim Gear from  www.tmart.com.  It is a fashion lady flower print variety wear deep V beach dress.  I love that it blends in with the color of  the swim wear that I got so it is perfect.
I hate those bruises in my knees.  They are almost gone but still visible.  I have a big scar also which I am still looking for some ointment that I can use on it to make the scar go away.  Any suggestion?
I will have to work out more though to confidently wear my swim wear weeee.  For now, I can confidently wear it inside my  home but now in public swimming places.  I still have  three months to shape up before our Maryland trip in August so good luck to me.
If you guys are looking for affordable but fashionable swim gear, try to browse at TMart.  They have a huge selection.  Thank you once again TMart.  Another  product to review soon.

BeautyBox5- April Edition

Here's what I got from  Beauty Box 5 this month of April.  There's eye shadow palette, hydro lipstick, cleansing wipes,  moisturizer, and lip definer.  I think my favorite in this box is the lipstick and the cleansing wipes.  We will be on the road  in a few months so this would come in handy.  Actually, I love all the stuff in BeautyBox5 because they are all travel sizes which is perfect for  adventurers like us.
This Nicka K New Yourk  hydro lipstick  is perfect if you love to pucker up.  It's paraben free which is great and it truly hydrates your lips.  This is a kind of shade that is perfect fur summer weather or just about any kind of weather.  When you put it on, it feels very light but still makes  a luscious effect.  It's funny when I tried this on, my son said "I like it better when you don't have lipstick" lol.
BH Cosmetics California Collection Eyeshadow Palette.  Now for those who love clutch, this is your ideal size.  You can  slip this in your clutch and  re-touching up with your eye makeup is easier.  It has three colors, Hollywood, San Francisco, and Malibu.
Bonne Bell Lip Definer.  I have never had this  before but I always admire women whose lips are well defined when they put their lipstick on.  Perfect for a precise pout.  The reason I don't wear make up or lipstick is that it takes time to  put it properly.  With lip definer, you can outline your lips before  using your favorite shade.
Blum Naturals All Purpose Cleansing Wipes.  I like that it is infused with Aloe Vera which is really good with skin.  This is great to  bring when you are attending a party or going somewhere.  Removing your make up is easier with this paraben free wipes.
Jergens Natural Glow - 3 Days to Glow Moisturizer.  If you want a subtle tan, this is the  one you want to use as doesn't leave streaks.  You can achieve a natural  looking color just by using this moisturizer.
Feeling beautiful even if  you are just inside your home is very important.  You can't really expect others to appreciate your beauty if you don't  appreciate your own.  Some  are not comfortable  going out without make up but for me,I am fine with it.
Thank you once again BeautyBox5.  You can check out my monthly subscription from BeautyBox5 below.

Changing Your Habits Can Improve Your Fitness Without Needing a Gym. Here's How

The general unfitness of the nation and so called obesity crisis is all over the news these days, and it is becoming a drag. If our moods aren’t being brought down by one thing, people find something else to make us feel guilty about. That’s just human nature I suppose.
Not everyone is cut out for life in the gym, and I certainly fall into that category. Modern gymnasiums are frightening buildings full of high-tech buildings and are enough to make one shudder at the thought of entering.
If, like me, you have decided that you are incredibly unfit and have a few extra pounds that need shedding, maybe you would consider a simple alternative to an all out workout, that could help you on the road to improved fitness. All it takes is some basic changes to your everyday routine and a positive attitude.

Read on and come to your own conclusions. All I can tell you is that I feel better and am a little lighter after using these techniques myself.

Don’t Sit Down

In your daily routine do you find that you spend a lot of time sitting down and watching television or delving into some ebooks from Sainsbury's, you need to change this. I set myself the goal of not sitting down for five hours a day once I had taken my children to school. Is there a period that you could use for standing instead of sitting. The simple action of being on your feet encourages you to do things other than watch television. You will find yourself pottering around in the garden or doing housework. Now, this may not be the most aerobic exercise in the world, but it does help. You suddenly find also, that the home and garden are looking much tidier.

Use The Commercials

Do you hate it when the commercials interrupt your viewing time on television in the evenings? So do I. I have, however, started to use them to help me get fit. Heres how it works; every time a commercial break starts on television or radio, walk up and down the stairs twice. Make positive use of the commercials and get fit by doing so.

Walk The Dog

Stop looking upon walking the dog as a chore. By changing your outlook and walking the dog further and more often than ever before, not only will you shed a few pounds and get fitter, but you will also keep your four legged friend happy.

Keep The House Tidy

Never allow a cup or plate to rest on a surface in your living room. If someone has a drink and puts the cup down, immediately get up and take it into the kitchen. They will think you are suffering from obsessive compulsive disorder, but you will know the real secret to your behavior.

Keeping active is the key. If you are sitting still, you are not losing weight or getting fit. Moving around, however much effort goes into it, burns energy; it’s a law of physics. So the more you move around, the more calories you burn and the better you feel within yourself. Think of other ways you can move around such as walking to the shop, or school, instead of driving. As long as you don’t eat more to compensate for the lost calories, you are sure to shed a few pounds over time. So, if you fear the gym, help yourself instead.

Boost your Bottom Line

I wondered who subscribed me from Shape Magazine as I  don't remember signing up for it.  It was also addressed at my FIL's a home addy so it's for sure I did not do it but I am grateful for it because I get to read some fitness  tips and do some of the routines   that celebrities  do to stay fit and in shape.   The first subscription that I received was for the month of March that showcased Sharon Stone as the celebrity  whose beauty still shines till this day.
One of the articles that I love is this one that focus on how to boost your bottom line.  I must admit, I am one of those  who isn't lucky to have   big breast and big butt.  The breast I don't mind but  the butt, I am trying to improve its shape hehehe.  It's nice to be able to  wear a jeans  and when you look in the mirror, you like what you see.  Not only that, your husband will say "Nice butt" with a  gentle tap on your butt cheeks lol.
I love doing the Squeeze bridge , I do this  while watching the morning news on TV.  Squeeze Bridge  works butts and hamstrings.  I don't have  a loop band but I still draw my knees  away from each other, then bring them close together again and lower hips to  starting position which is lie faceup with knees bent and feet hip width apart on the floor.  You can do  do 20 reps and you will feel the  heat burning around  your legs, hi[ps, and even your upper body.
According to Andrea Orbeck, the trainer behind some of those Hollywood  hottest backsides, if you follow this (glute trifecta), you'll firm the flab and reverse it into tone tush.  This is a cardio  that Heidi Klum uses to  fire up the butt and blast fat.  It sculptors the target which is the largest muscles  in the lower body and moves that home in the glutes from every angle.
I received the April  magazine already featuring  super model Naomi Campbell.  NO wonder she's so toned  at her age.   Alrighty, next time folks.
