Let's Get Lost: #FamilyPictureAugust

Part of the plan on our   vacation to Las Vegas  (which I haven't blog yet), was visiting the Grand Canyon.  It was a far drive but we enjoyed the road trip.  It was  the day of our anniversary when we went.  Vegas was  nice but it is so busy and was too hot that a day on the road would do us good.  We got up really early and head on to Arizona after  we ate breakfast
Driving through the desert-like  view makes me appreciate our state of West Virginia more with all it's green scenery.  There is something  about looking through absence of trees  that made me feel a little down but as my husband said "it's quite unique" so we  tried to just enjoy the ride.
We stopped by at Williams, Arizona for a restroom break and put on our anniversary shirts that says 14 Years and Still Enjoying the Ride.
I should have brought my tripod but it takes a lot of space in the suitcase so I didn't.  Our daughter took these photos so she wasn't in the picture.
I am grateful that my  husband love to travel and  doesn't mind driving because we get to  go places.
Both hubby and I  have terrible sense of direction so having the GPS saves us from getting lost all the time.  We still get lost from time to time when the GPS is late in telling us  about the exit but it is part of the journey.  I thought the  theme for this month's BeautyBox5 box is perfect for us.  Nobody wants to get lost but hey when you are enjoying the ride, why not.  Let's Get Lost box has Luseta Beauty argan oil hair masque, Styli Style line and seal yeliner, Manna Kadar Cosmetics Glo illuminator, Seraphine Botanicals Quince and Crimson crayon, and Nanacoco Rio 2 nail polish.
My favorites are the Argan oil hair masque and the nail polish.  The heat of the summer makes my hair  a bit dry so I  gave  it a treatment using the Argan oil mask and  it's awesome.  It makes my hair so soft that I can  just stroke it with my fingers and it looks like I  brushed it or straighten with a hair iron.

It's been a while since I painted my nails so I was glad to see a nail polish in this month's box.  The color of the nail polish  kind of matches my shoes!  If you enjoy what you see in the box, head on to BeautyBox5 and try their  subscription.  It's fun and affordable

Michael Kors Jacket and April #BeautyBox5

Once in a while, I find a piece of  clothing that I couldn't pass to buy especially if it's the right size for me and the price is right.  I rarely find the right fit for a petite person like me so once I do, I   get it.  The disadvantage of it though is the unexpected  expense.  My husband does not mind it though, sometimes I would turn down  a piece of clothing that I like because of the price but my husband would always say to get it.
This Michael Kors jacket was   on 50% off  the price sale  and it  was my size so I bought it.  I love it because it's a great piece to wear specially when it is raining.  It is designed like a rain coat.  The gold  zipper is  the only thing that  I have issue with  on this piece but my husband said that it  really compliment the black.
It's the first day of May but I just received the  box from Beauty Box 5 for the month of April.  I am not sure what happened but still glad to get it.  April's theme is to stay golden  with the following products; Vitamin C sheet mask,  blush, bobby pins,  and lash curler.
My favorite is the lash curler because I can  actually use it regularly  for my eyelashes   Of course the mask is  a great addition too, I seldom use mask but  it feels good when I do.  My daughter love the golden bobby pins, she's the one who love using bobby pins so  she glowed when she saw it.  If you are into beauty products like these, Beauty Box 5 is a  great subscription for you.  You get to receive 5 different products every month for a  a very low price.

My Little Lady Attended Her First School Dance

Our daughter  is attending a school Spring dance tonight.  This is her first time attending  a dance in school  and she's kind of nervous but excited to  be with her friends.  She's not much of a dancer so she never really had any interest in  participating  with the past dance events in school. This time though, something has changed, she mentioned the dance to me  this morning  so I asked her if she wants to attend, she perked up lol.
These photos were taken  on the first week of March after we got home from church.  She's my  partner in crime when it comes to  taking photos.  The boys  are always  against it  but her and I  always have fun taking photos.  She's usually the subject and I am the photographer.
Between my two children, my son has the long eye lashes and  my daughter always wish that she has her brother's long eyelashes and the eye color.  I told her that since she is a girl, those would be easier to fix since you can just use  eyelash extensions and you can also  use  different colors of contacts.
I was offering to put  some of these  Sweep  eyelash extension on her eyes but she didn't want to.  I think my little lady is like me, she is not much into cosmetics.
This month's Beauty Box 5 is all about  intensifying the look of your eyes.  There's  the true metal eye shadow, cosmetic glitter, lash primer, lash helper, and lashes.
It has everything that you need  to  level up the look of your eyes.  I told my daughter that this is something she need to learn because I never really had any interesting in applying make up when I was growing up so up until now, I am okay with just lip gloss when I go out.

Vera Wang, Fancy Feet , and More #RosyVoxBox #Contest

I love this International Concept coat that my husband   gave me  on Valentine's day.  It's a perfect  coat to wear when  going to church because it is  dressy.   I am not very fond of white coat because anything that  gets in there is so visible but I thought this was a very nice one.  I wore it yesterday when we attended the mass.  Cold  weather is back at our  neck of the woods.  We had a week of warm weather but it was  just a tease from mother nature.
I also love the Rosy Voxbox  from Influenster.  It has Fancy Feet Ball of Foot Cushions, Secret Clinical Strength deodorant,  Purell Advanced hand sanitizer naturals, and Vera Wang Embrace  collection of fragrances.
This Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Soft Wave sea salt spray will be great  for my daughter's hair. It is infused of seasalt, aloe, and sea kelp for a soft tousled look.  I like that it is free of  sulfate, paraben, phthalate, dye and gluten.

Anyway, some of you might notice that I am not really big on make up but I love  perfumes, colognes, and other fragrances.  I was excited that there are two samples of Vera Wang's Embrace fragrance.  One scent is  rose buds and vanilla and the other one is  marigold and gardenia.  I like the rose bud and vanilla more because  it is not  so strong, it has a very  sweet scent to it.
I haven't  tried the Secret Clinical Strength deodorant before so this is a perfect opportunity to try it to see if  this is something I can use  from now on.  I actually tried  this yesterday since I was  wearing a white blouse and I didn't want it to be stained.  After my workout today, I  found out that this provides  woman like me who have an active lifestyle  the sweat protection that I need.  So yes, I can say that this would be  the one I will be buying from now on.
This white and black shoes is one of my favorite  pair of shoes to wear on  special occasion.  I don't wear  it often because my feet slips  forward  sometimes.  Now I can give the ball of my feet a break with the Fancy Feet by Foot Petal's ball of foot cushion.  This   would help add stability and shock absorption to any;one's strut  while keeping your foot from sliding forward with each step.  I love that the invisible cushion is breathable  and formulated with antimicrobial  technology which keep  my feet  cool and dry.  I would  definitely buy more pair of this for my other shoes  that slides forward.

As I have mentioned, I only  wear this shoes  on occasion because of sliding issue.  The photo below was taken two years ago  during my  son's confirmation so it has been  two years  since I used it.
I was going to wear it yesterday but I changed my mind and wore my blue shoes instead.

As a Mom, having a sanitizer in my purse is a must for me when we go  somewhere.   This time around, flu and cold has been going around so it is  important to  wash  our hands frequently or sanitized them.  Kids can't help  themselves from teaching things so  it is a must to clean them before eating or  even touching their faces.

February: Put Your Best Kiss Forward #FamilyPictureFebruary

February is almost over , oh how time flies.  There's a lot of things to be thankful for this month being a heart-filled   times of the year.  To continue on with  our  monthly family picture taken at home, here are some shots we took  for this month.  These were taken  last weekend after we attended  the mass.
My  husband turned 48 this month and that's one special day we  have celebrated three days  after Valentine's day.  We made a special dinner for him, baked a  cake for him, and enjoyed family time after wards.  We also  visited my FIL on President's day to see how he has been for the past few weeks since our last visit.
I am now on the  third week of  my #90DayChallenge of losing some unwanted fats.  So far I have lost  2 pounds since I started this month.  I have cut down my sugar intake and started walking on a treadmill again.  I started my long walk outdoors this morning since we will have a great week throughout the week so I am taking the opportunity to do my walking outdoors.  I walked for about an hour and half which felt great.
Also sharing you this month's Beauty Box 5 is all about  lippie treatment in order to put your  best kiss forward.  There is a pink moisturizing lip mask, forever after unicorn lippie and unicorn liner, lip glow sheer  gloss balm, and  velvet color hybrid.
The forever after unicorn lippie  is debuted in this month's content.  It is ultra pigmented and it glides  so easily in your lips.  My daughter liked the So Susan colour hybrid  rich cream mouse  because you can use both for your lips and you can also apply a touch of it on your cheeks and it looks great for any skin tone.  My favorite this month is the  pink moisturizing lip mask.

Ready for a Family Close Up #FamilyPIctureJanuary

Our family goal this year to  take a family photo at least once a month.  So before January  ends, I am posting the one that we took  for this month.  This was taken last Sunday before we went to church.  We all wore something blue and here we go, month of January - accomplished!
I am also sharing the first box  that I got from Beauty Box 5 this year.  This month's content includes light diffuser, soy milk cleanser, leave in conditioner, nail polish, and anti blemish clear spot patches.
My daughter is almost 12 so she is starting to  experiment on these beauty products especially hair and skin care.  On the photo above, I am wearing the light diffuser from So Susan, you can't really see it since  our photo isn't  a close up one but I used it and I thought, it is  really nice.  I love the scent of cocoa and coconut in it.
I have tried  the Novex conditioner  before and loved it  for my hair so I got excited for this one but my daughter said she wants to try it for her long hair too so I gave it to her.  She  said that she likes it because it makes her hair  very  soft and  easy to brush.  I noticed that it makes her black hair super shiny too.
One of my favorite this month is this Pur-Lisse delicate soy milk cleanser.  I love using it before I go to bed.  It  has a blend of soy milk, soy protein, whole oat and white tea.  If you wear make up during the day, this would be great to use to remove that at the end of the day.
Another favorite of mine is this nail polish, it is called Best of my Love from Nanacoco.  I love  Nanacoco's nail polishes!
This makes for a great DIY spa-day at home.

Just Add Confetti

Five days till Christmas, I am excited!  Gifts are wrapped,  cards were sent out, now  we wait for the    most important part, celebrating the true reason why we have CHRISTmas.  May we remember  to give thanks to  God for all our blessing this year.  I am grateful for everything we experienced this year including the  hurdles as it made us stronger and better.  It's been a year of fun memories for us.
I am also grateful for companies like Beauty Box 5 who have been a big part of this blog this year.  It's fun receiving  5 different products in a box  every month from them.  This month's box includes liquid gossamer, rain bath body wash, cerapeutic  restoring body lotion, freezing finish hair spray, and lip gloss.  The liquid illuminator provides the perfect highlight.  I am not fond of the smell of the lotion but I like how it feels on my skin.  The hairspray is great if you want your curls to stay  in place.  The products on this  box is party perfect, just add confetti and you're good to go.
My daughter and I love the highly pigmented lip gloss.  It's perfect to wear alone or layer over lipstick for more intense finish.  My eleven year old is showing interest in  beauty products, she asked if she can try the lip gloss and I told her to go for it.
The semi matte formula provides  both rich moisture and a color that last through out the day or night.  She also  used the  rain bath since she has a new  sponge that her friend gave her  for Christmas.

Football Banquet at Williams Golf & Country Club

Last Sunday (November 13) was the football banquet.  We got ready  a little early so we took some family pictures while waiting for the time for us to go to the venue of the said event.  I love it when my men are all dressed up.  They don't really dressed up often so it's fun to see them  all spiffy and prim.
The event was held at  Williams Golf and Country Club  in Marland Heights Weirton, WV.   Driving to the place is a real treat,  the golf  course is  beautiful.
Williams Golf & Country Club is located in the heart of Weirton, West Virginia.  It is established in 1932, the club features an 18-hole, par 72 golf course and a clubhouse renowned for its banquet and dining facilities.
Williams  Golf and Country Club  is rated in the top ten of West Virginia’s best golf courses. It  is beautiful and well maintained.  Its layout offers challenge for players at every level.
According to their website, over the years Williams has been the site of three West Virginia Open tournaments and numerous Tri-State, PGA and other events.
It was a really good way of ending the football season, for family and friends to get together and have some good conversation while enjoying delicious food.
My husband worked on this business establishments 30 years ago when he was a teenager and he said that almost everything is still the same inside the reception hall.  He said that there was this rich guy  who was  a frequent client at the club and every Christmas he would give a dollar to someone.  At one time my husband  got the lucky dollar and his friends were teasing him about that.  I told him that he should have kept the dollar as a souvenir lol.
The place looks  old but still well maintained.  The high ceiling is  beautiful but you can tell that  it is really old.
All the players sat in one long table.    It gave all of the the chance to talk to each other before they part ways.  The Jr. Dons football is consist of two catholic schools, St. Joseph and St. Paul.
The Banquet hall has a stunning view of the Ohio river.
While waiting for the program to start, we were able to walk around and take pictures.
I love the furniture and paintings that they have.  You can tell they're old but still beautiful.
It is awesome to see our kids socialize with their friends even though they don't go to the same school but they are united through sports.
Most of these kids will go to the same catholic  high school which is Madonna.
Through out the  football season, I have meet some  good people and became friends  with a few of them.
I hope that next football season will be as  fun as this year.  They did not win a game bu they learned a lot and they have fun so that's what mattered the most.
The family that I got closer with won't be doing the next season.  I am going to miss them.
I applaud  the parents who  put together this event.  They have done a  wonderful job in preparing everything.  The program and the  names with  meals are set upon  the entrance so we just  picked ours.  We were the first ones there so we wondered why they were two sets of our name, it must have been a mistake.

There was an appetizer served before the main course.  They served  salad and  fresh baked bread.   My daughter and I had salmon hollandaise and my husband had steak.  Our son had chicken.
Dessert was also served after wards.
The warding ceremony  was done after we ate.
On our way home, we stopped at one  part of the road  and took some pictures.
It was one wonderful  event that we all enjoyed.  Looking forward to a new season next year.
I was wearing an earth toned dress so the lip locked stain "shae" was a perfect lippie!  It contains primer stain, and kip gloss ion one.  I love that it lasts even after  I ate and the shade really compliment my skin tone.
This month's  Beauty Box 5 has the  theme "It's too cold for a naked face".  It has a deep conditioning hair mask that I truly loved, I used it three times.  The hair mask  repairs damage and breakage to your hair.  I love love love the smell of it.  It also has a  pack of make up remover  cleansing towellets.  Although I don't use make up, it is  great to have it in my purse especially when we go somewhere and I want to refresh my face.  It is unfortunate that the shadow trio  was  damaged during the transit.  The angle brush as a great addition too.
Overall, it was a really great event.  We had fun and our bellies were full!
