Fitness Mom

I am not talking about me  but I am talking about the Asian woman, Maria Kang,  who posted a photo of her and her three kids on Facebook that says "What is your Excuse?"  Have you seen it?  They are all over the internet as well as it stirred up controversy.  Some got inspired and some got insulted too.  For me, it is very inspiring because she has three kids and she still managed to have a great looking bod!  The first photo  is the one she posted  in Facebook.

Maria Kang is  half Chinese and half Filipino (if I am not mistaken).  She is a business owner, a non-profit founder, creator of the "Belly Ball" and now known as the Fitness Mom or the  the "No Excuse Mom".  For me, she speaks the reality.  Being a Mom is no excuse not to be physically  fit,  unless of course,  you have a medical condition that is preventing you to do things physically for fitness.  Everyone has each own opinion and you really can't please everybody.  So even if her intention was not bad, some people might have interpreted it the wrong way.

Anyway, onto another topic, it's time for me to take Maria Kang's challenge to all Moms out there lol. I would love to thank   empower Fitness for sending me this Fusion Fintness Disc, a new addition to my fitness tools at home.  Just like Maria Kang,  Empower Fitness also encourages  women to be active, be healthy, and be strong.  I  admire this company and other companies that do support Moms like me to be the best we could be by  providing us the tools that we need to be physically fit.

Sometime in  October, I participated in a survey about a  video that empower sent me  via email.  I tried doing the  10-minute Victoria's Secret Models workout and then I participated in a survey of how my experience was.   I was  surprised when they sent me an email last month saying that they are going to send me a  Fusion Fitness Disc as a Thank you for participating in the survey.

The video above  is a good one to do everyday, you can try it too.  The Fitness Fusion Disc that they sent comes with a  DVD that I can watch on the different kinds of  exercise you can do about this   7 lbs disk.  There are 10 different  work out routines that you can do with this fusion disc which includes:
  1. sumo squats
  2. upward rows
  3. traveling push ups
  4. alternating twist lounges
  5. overhead triceps press (which is what I was doing in the photos below),
  6. jumping jacks
  7. alternating arm swing
  8. side lunges
  9. squat with one arm overhead press
  10. burpees
I have been doing my workouts in our living room because it is called  at our mini gym at the basement.  I don't want to  turn on our portable electric heater because it dries out my nose.  I can say that this fusion disc is a true full body workout which provide an invigorating muscle conditioning, cardio and core workout.

To find out more about the  work out routines I have mentioned above, please  watch the video below.

Thank you so much once again empower!

  2. If only I could move like I used too..... I would so love to do some working out, but my legs are so bad I cannot run, jump, heck I can barely walk half the time.

  3. Fitness should be a priority not only for Moms but everyone. However, it's easier said than done. It takes a lot of dedication and discipline to be fit. Kudos to Maria Kang!

You're so right on heaters, they can wreck havoc to our noses. A humidifier can help. :-)

  13. Yes i have seen it too. I don't think there's something wrong about it. We all have our own choices and if you are to ask me, I would choose to be healthy and physically fit like hers. It's not the benefit of others but for ME. So, kuddos to her!

  14. Ah... the photo that stirred controversies all over the internet esp on Facebook! My reaction: "Good for her!" She is blessed with the kind of genes where she doesn't have any problem at all when it comes to her metabolism and weight maintenance. Not me! And no, I am not insulted at all! She is an inspiration eventhough I can't do what she does! Lol.

As for your new prop-- that is an absolutely great tool towards your sexiness, sis!

  17. I do not understand why others would see her photos as insensitive, etc, we all should keep a healthy and active lifestyle, and if we could not maintain it, it does not give us reason to hate others who do, instead, they should inspire us. You are so right Rose, being a mom or a busy woman is not an excuse, like what my doctor said ( I am getting less migraine attacks now if none at all), we should take care of our physical fitness as much as we take care of our teeth.

  21. i do muay thai and aerobics and i must say that fitness is really my priority over other things now esp that i have a son. but really, it wouldnt be as easy to other moms who may not have a yaya looking after their sons/ daughters to just complete a routine on a daily basis:) plus, there are many too who have to consider budget from this. the discipline is not easy to adapt.

  24. I miss working out hardcore. I was once a gym rat. I cannot wait to go back to the gym with an actual trainer.

  25. Good on her! We must not feel maligned at all rather, take her as an inspiration and a huge motivation that if she can, why can't we? Palaban lang diba? HAHahaha!

Way to go, Rose! You're one of the Mommy bloggers I so adore for keeping your body sexy and fit.Tulo lang ang laway nila. LOL! Di bale, pahiran nalang natin. Nyahahhaa!

  26. being fit is indeed very important. i guess if they dont have time to exercise they can have all the time feeling sick and unhealthy.

  27. Maria Kang is so inspiring! :) Gee and so are you! The only physical fitness activity I can religiously do these days is brisk walking :) Sigh, love her well toned body! Whew, I think am gonna join her challenge! :D

  28. I am way to lazy! simple as that. I do watch my intake and I am constantly moving, more so because I can't sit still, I have been doing a half/half job of the squat challenge I had seen floating around awhile ago, but mainly so I look good in jeans.. ha ha lol :) You are very inspiring!

  29. That'a very interesting routine exercise. I challenge myself months ago. Unfortunately I need to back down a little to too much exercise as per doctor's advice.

  30. Light exercise will lead you to your goal. You have a nice built already.

  31. I am jealous of her Sis Rose :-) You don't look bad at yourself too. You are one sexy Mommy and am envy you :-) I am so slag with my working out :-(

  32. I received the same email too and wasn't able to participate. I wish I had, but hopefully next time. Anyway, about the oh so sexy mom and her controversial photo, I don't find any negativity with it at all. Won't say much, but I would rather focus on my own health being rather than comment on something that I don't see any problem at all, but an inspiration to me.

  33. i am really baffled when i read about this issue before, i think it really is rather inspiring for a mum of three to have a rocking body like hers, everyone ought to take after her, after all, we mums really need to put premium on our health and over-all well-being to be able to function as better mothers for our children.

it has been my long-time goal to get back into shape + now is probably the right time to work on it!

  34. Fit and sexy, that's what I want to be! I just started my calorie watch intake so in the next few days I am starting my exercise challenge.. .hopefully I can finish it. Thanks for the motivation too!

  35. I could not understand on why some are insulted with her pictures. The way I see it - jealousy strikes in this scenario. I mean, I commend her for maintaining her body. I kinda understand too that she is a personal trainer, so I guess, it is just right for her to have great physique.

  36. You are also an inspiration to us. You are fit.

  37. Maria Kang is truly very inspiring! And you are too!

  38. When will I see "Chubskulit Rose's Video Workout" sis?!? You are also fitness buff and I should be imitating you. :) I told myself, let the holidays pass because I know I'll suck at the will power but let 2014 roll for a healthier, fitter life.
