June Came Marching In

I can't believe June is here!  Time really does fly by  especially when you have so much going on.  We have been so busy the past month that we hardly had time to rest and take a break.  We are working  hard at the new house  and get it ready for a move-in condition.  The last four  weeks was spent  finishing the hard wood floors and while my husband is doing the last stage of the process, which was putting polyurethane on it, I  had to stay outside so I did  a lot of gardening.  I didn't know that he took these photos but glad he did coz I can use it lol.
I love gardening especially when you see some flowers from what you have planted.  This year, I won't have a vegetable garden but I plan to do that next year when we are all settled in i at the new home.

All my fitness routines was put on hold, all my workouts was done at the house helping my husband  in refinishing the hard wood floors.  Well, except for the long walk  that my kids and I did and the  run I did the other day.

Today, I took a break from gardening and  pampered my  nails a little bit because they were looking so rough.  My hands are  so thick with calluses already lol.  I soaked my feet  in the tub after I  mowed the grass and scrubbed them after wards.
So glad to have this foot and shoe deodorizer from Aurorae.  It is a all-natural foot and shoe deodorizer  designed to freshen  your feet and foot gear.  I love that they made this out of 100% natural ingredients and  essential oils.
This product is intended  for bare feet and the inside of all shoes such as sneakers, ballet flats, leather shoes and even kids shoes.  It is Non-toxic witout chemicals in it,  and it is safe to your skin.  My dog is even  interested  with the smell of it.
I recommend this for those who wear shoes a lot.  It's good stuff!  My son is  glad because his feet sweats a lot and now that he is playing tennis, he can really freshen up his feet and shoes with this.

Yoga Headband with Silicone Grip

April was a good month for my fitness routine, I was able to do my long walks and keep my  indoor fintess routine.  May is a little diffferent because hubby and I have been working on the house that I don't have time to do it but working on our house is a workout in itself as we do a lot of hardwork there.
I am so glad I have this yoga headband with silicone grip from Aurorare because I don't like it when my hair is  falling down my face  when I am working on something.  Overall, this yoga mat is not only for my fitness routine but I use it  everyday doing stuff .  This Ultimate Aurorae Sports and Yoga Headband is designed to stay on your head during high athletic movements or gentle yoga practice.   It is perfect for everyday use!
I have been stressing out lately  with all the stuff going on.  I have been packing our stuff slowly and hubby and I  have been working on our house but it seems like nothing is getting done ugh.  We will have until the end of the month to occupy our new home as per VA requirements.  We  still have a lot of things to be done  at the house and it's  making me anxious.
So glad that  the volleyball season is over and most of the school activities are done.  We will be able to concentrate on our  move.  Then again,  the kids just started tennis so that is one thing  that we have to do every week as well.  Oh well, as soon as the kids are having fuyn, that is all that matters.
These photos were taken during the Walk for Education fund raiser at school.  I will be  out of connection in the next   few weeks when we move so I am using  this opportunity to post some stuff on my blogs while I can.

A Healthy Mom is a Stronger Mom : Family Fitness Race

I love all these written sayings from MOM users of the  Fe Fit Kit, they are very  inspiring.
  • Take some ME-TIME because YOU Deserve IT!
  • Become a Better version of yourself,.  It's all about you.
  • Reengage what is possible for you.
  • Show your children what it means ti be active and FIT.
  • Never underestimate the power of a good workout
  • Being a Mom is challenging but rewarding.  Your workout should be no different
  • When I work out I feel better, I sleep better and I have more energy.  It makes me a better MOM!

So what is Fe Fit? Fe Fit is a Fitness routines compiled in different segments  created by  two  moms to help other moms  rebuild, recharge,  and  reclaim their woman figure after pregnancy.  I received a 90-day Fitness Experience Kit to try.   Fe  Fit is consist of 28 unique work outs incorporating some of the latest fitness  trends.
U so love the packaging.  You can  almost feel them saying "It's a gift for you!"  I love the  Fe Fuel Protein and Energy Bar that they included in the box along with the discs and guide containing the information of what you need to  know about the company, the  founder, and the work outs.
What's with  the Name Fe?  Fe is named after the periodic symbol of iron.  Iron is strong,  versatile and essential to a healthy life. It also quite literally, makes up the core of our world.  While it hs the natural strength about it,  it has the potential to transform into so much more.  The Founders,  Melanie and Renee believes that FE perfectly  represents the strewnght in motherhood which I agree. Moms are the core element of the familyn the strengths that holds it together.  With Fe Fitm you can be transformed into a healthier, stronger , and happy Mom.  A Healthy Mom is a Stronger Mom, do you agree?
I love that the kit has stickers, you can   mark the days of your work out.
The workouts  include core, barre, total body toning,   cardio circuit. lower body, stretch flow, and upper body.  It is a complete set of workouts that would really tone you down in 90 days if you stick to the routine.
I have been doing a 30-minute work out time  since last week.  I can't see any changes in my  body yet but I can feel the difference.  The first day I tried the  first disc, I was like  dying and  catching my breath lol.   Despite being active with our walks, I still need to work on other things to  achieve my fitness goal so I am glad that I have this Fe Fit to try.
On another note, I would like to share this  first  2 Mole Walk Race we have participated into at our community.  We signed up for it this year  because we wanted to experience how i-t is.  Hubby and I were planning to run the  5k Classic Race but we thought it would be fun if we all do it so we only signed up  for the 2k Walk race so that our kids can do it too.
This was held at Marland Heights  on August 21 and we certainly had a blast even though we did not  know what to expect.
I even saw one of the Moms from school  who  was also a first time runner on the event.  Don't our outfits matches with the color scheme of the Fe Fit?
We also paid for our kids but they were disappointed that they did not get a number.  For this event, we paid $48 for the four of us.  It includes snacks  after the  race.  I am not sure how many years they have been doing this  event but the registration is a bit disorganized.  They seem to know know  what to do.  We  had to ask for our meal tickets because the  table where we registered to did not know about it.  It seems like they were not briefed of what  to do.
Nevertheless, it was a fun event.  We had our  exercise for that  day and  we got to do it as a family.   It was  our very first  in participating to the community event.   We have been  doing   long walks  but not as a race.  We did 15k a couple of times and lots of 5Ks over the course of the summer.
Hubby and I are trying our best to stay fit and  eat healthy  so we can show our kids how important it is to be healthy.
Events like this gave our  kids a chance to  drink soda hahaha.  We don't  buy soda for home consumption so when they get the chance, it's  like a treat although they know what  soda can do to their body.  Anything in moderation is not bad so we let them indulge once in a while.
We will be doing a fitness walk race again  next month.  My husband's work is sponsoring a race so we are planning to participate to that.
I will be  updating this post when I reached 90 days to see  if there's a change in my body shape.  I hope that I can stay motivated and keep up with the routine.  If I can aford it, I would love to get their FÉ FIT 90 DAY ULTIMATE KIT because it has everything that you need!  For now, I am happy with what I got.  Thank you Fe Fit for the opportunity.

Our 9-MIle Journey to Fitness Last Part - Going Back

Going back is the hard part  especially if you have rested your body already. The kids were a little exhausted although they were  very  glad that they get to rest their feet and legs for another half our 9-mile walking journey.
Going down Marland Heights was the easy part for the kids.  They were not complaining but I can tell that they were getting wore out.
The sun was starting to unleash it's heat so it was hard on the kids but they were   real troopers.  They just continue without whining.
Even the boys have slowed down so I took the chance of  taking photos of them as e move on.
Weirton is a small city  that boarders three states, PA, WV, and OH.  The steel mill used to be the booming industry here but  according to what I've read, the Union ruined it.  Small part of the mill is still operating but the huge part is no longer inoperation which is sad.  You can see the steel coil onthe background.
You can tell my daughter was already wore out by the time and we still have like 2.5 miles to wlak  hat's why  we di  a short stop and let her rest.
Our son on the other hand wasfull of energy.  He didn't slow down a bit.
I keep motivating my daughter that  we are almost home but she knows that we arejust halway home.
Thi is a natural spring water.  Ihave drink   a couple of times here already and  I didn't get sick.  We didn't let thekids drink here because I am not sure if their immune system can tolerate it.  Even my husband is afraid to take a drink.  Hesaid that his Dad used to get gallons of water from this  place when his grandma is visiting them because  she didn't like city water.
Reaching the top of the hill was a big relief for my little lady, she was otired already.
Wehad to stop again and let her rest for a while before takin the last one mile of our walk.
This is the house that we love along the way.  The front yard is huge.
This is part of St. Paul Cemetery.  We bought three plots on this which will be another post next time, lol.
We finally reached the Pennsylvania Avenue.  The sun was sointense by this time as it was non time already.
I think the last one mile was the hardest for the kids to finish because it was too hot.
We are so thrilled that our children did it without compaining, not even a slight whine came out from them.  We are so proud of them.  Not many kids do this kind of activity especially  at their age. I am so glad we are raising  some real tropper individuals.  It's been 4 days since our long walk.  We have been going for  walks around the neighborhood but no long walk so far.  We might do it again before the summer is over.

Our 9-MIle Journey to Fitness Part 4 - Marland Heights Hill

To continue my post about our 9-mile  family walk journey, I am showcasing the   hike  we did to the steep Marland Heights Hill.  We thought of  showibng the trail to the kids but since it was muggy that day, we were worried that there wil be lots of mosquito in the woods so we choose to take the  short but tought route.  It's also a scary road with kids because  there are parts where there is no  space for walkers.
Here pushing their best to reach for our detination, their Pap's house.
They were so releived seeing Dad's street lol.
They couldn't wait to get inside and  take a rest while visiting Dad.  He was  in bed when we arrived, it was around 10:30  and he was already drunk.  He fell from the bed when he tried to get up.  Hubby and I had a hard time picking them up.  It is very sad seeing Dad turninginto alcoholic.  He is  almost 93 and  drinking shuld not be part of his daily routine.  I wish I have the voice and tell the rest of the family to stop giving him whisky.
Anyway, we had fun visiting him.  He was ornery because he was drunk.  My husband made him  some potatoes for breakfast because he said that he  can't figure out how to  turn the oven on.
We let them eat and he kept asking me for a drink so I gave him water but he did not want that.  He then told me what kind of "grnd-daughter" I was  for saying no to him when he ask me for a drink.  I told him that I care for him that's why I don't want him to drink no more.  Besides he was already drunk and I was worried that when we leave, he is going to fal and his  his head somewhere.
After an hour or so, we  got ready to head head back.  He then told us that we only visited for 5 minutes.  Oh boy. Nevertheless, we had  fun visiting and I am sure he was   also glad that we came.  He might not remember it but that's how itgoes now that he can barely remember things.  I will be posting the last part of our journey, let us see if  thekids still have the strength toclimb the steep Greenbrier Road.  Find outhow they did on the next post.
