October Family Photo and Football Banquet

I can't believe that  October only has one day left, time  flies so quickly.  It's time to post our monthly goal of taking a family photo.  Our plan was to take some  photos at the Williams Golf and Country Club at Marland Heights but it was raining and  cold that we  scraped the idea.  We just took a couple  of shots when we arrived home after the party.
This year's football season was not a really victorious for the Junior Dons but still a learning  season for all of them.  My son is  discouraged and doesn't want to play next year, we will see.  This is his second season playing and I think he wants to be able to have a and on the ball, after all he is given the position where he is supposed to get the ball  through the course of the  each game but nothing.  He wanted to quit  in the middle of the season but we told him to finish  it and  have a break  next year.
He wasn't feeling well  since Friday but since we already paid for the  banquet, we went there and celebrated with the rest of the  team and their families.  One thing I like  about the football program is that at the end of every season, the  coaches  give each athlete the recognition they deserve which means  that they care.
All  players were given  a Jr. Dons  blanket and a hat and  the older boys get big framed photo which is nice.
It's hard taking  clear photos with my long lens.  My short camera lens got damaged when we  had our vacation in Las Vegas so I am using the long one.  Hopefully, Santa will bring me a new lens to replace  the other one.
The scenery going to the golf course is beautiful.  Photos were not as bright as it was raining and taking photos in a wet windshield is  rough.
I love  Fall but when it rains, it  is depressing.
Anyway, here's to another month that will passed by.  Two  more months and 2017 will be history.  MY daughter is already asking when we are putting the Christmas decor.  I told her that we might get it up after the Halloween.  We will see.
Hopefully, my son will feel better so he could enjoy the occasion.  I am not  looking forward for the cold  but it is  always safer to go with the kids when trick or treating.  With the crazy things happening these days, it's hard to not worry about your children's safety.  Have a safe Halloween celebration everybody.

Volleyball and Badminton Fun

As I  have mentioned over in my other blog, we  attended a party at the last week of August over at Beaver PA.   The homeowner lives in a secluded area where  neighbors are far and he has a  decent amount of land for his  farm animals.  They set up a badminton  set in the yard and we had so much fun with it.
It's been a while since  we last played this game (five years ago maybe) so we were  glad to have the opportunity to play again.
These two  are very competitive and they always  want to do best in  everything that  they do.  It is a  kind of a  curse of sometimes because when  they feel like they won't do well, they don't want to try it.  They do love badminton and tennis so they were happy to see the set as soon as we arrived in the farm.
We interacted with the farm animals first then they played badminton.  Because of this, they want a set of badminton that we can set in our backyard.  I am not sure if our backyard would be big enough for this but we will see.  They also want a pingpong  set for Christmas because they had so much fun playing with it during our Vegas trip.
We used the same net to play volleyball.  I love playing volleyball so even if I didn't know these people I  played with them.  Some of them have already filled with beer so it was funny seeing them  stumble at times.
I just wish I would have  worn a sports clothes  and shoes  that day, it would have been comfortable.  I indeed up removing my shoes because it was hard running with it.
I think  the homeowner have  few beers before he played and he landed his put wrong when he leaped and he  had an injury.  He had to go to the  hospital and left  his guests there because his foot  swelled up right away.  This is why, you should play any sports when you have alcohol in you, it calls for a disaster.  I felt so bad for him because he  hosted this party to have fun but indeed up getting hurt.

Changes of Schedules in Music and Sports for our Minions

During summer break, my children's  piano teacher conducts her lesson at her home.  It's a walking distance from our house and we like this arrangement because it adds up to our  outdoor activity. She lives by the woods so we enjoy seeing wild  animals.
Back in June,  cicadas were thick so  my daughter wanted us to stay  at the teacher's porch because she is  scared of  cicadas.
My son on the other hand ain't afraid of those critters.  He picks them up and  lay them in his hands.
So we had more fun  walking around the grassy area and explore what is out there.  We usually see deer, different kinds of birds and  a lot of turkey.
Kids nowadays don't normally go in the woods anymore.  With the  gadgets around, they tend to bury their faces in their gadgets all the time.  We discourage that for our kids.  We see to it that they go outside and enjoy what is out there to see and learn.
Our young man love any critter out there.  I remember when he was a toddler, he picked up even a wasp lol.  He cried but that did not scare him from exploring with bugs though.
These mushrooms on the tree  is always his favorite thing to see.
He always asks a bunch of questions so I always have my phoone for a backup when I can't answer his questions lol.
I am bummed out that he  stopped taking piano lessons but I don't want to force  him to do anything that he doesn't want or not passionate about of doing.
On the bright side, it works great that he stopped  taking lessons because it conflict with the time schedule of his  football practice.  They can't even do the tennis this Fall because  it is also conflict with the schedule of other things that they are doing.
He loves football and he wishes he can still do the tennis this Fall.  I told him that maybe, we can do it again next season.  We are however, see to it that we go play tennis  every weekend so that they won't forget what they learn during the first season that they  signed up for it.  Hubby and I learned how to play tennis through them so  that is something tht we can all do every weekend while the weather is nice.

June Came Marching In

I can't believe June is here!  Time really does fly by  especially when you have so much going on.  We have been so busy the past month that we hardly had time to rest and take a break.  We are working  hard at the new house  and get it ready for a move-in condition.  The last four  weeks was spent  finishing the hard wood floors and while my husband is doing the last stage of the process, which was putting polyurethane on it, I  had to stay outside so I did  a lot of gardening.  I didn't know that he took these photos but glad he did coz I can use it lol.
I love gardening especially when you see some flowers from what you have planted.  This year, I won't have a vegetable garden but I plan to do that next year when we are all settled in i at the new home.

All my fitness routines was put on hold, all my workouts was done at the house helping my husband  in refinishing the hard wood floors.  Well, except for the long walk  that my kids and I did and the  run I did the other day.

Today, I took a break from gardening and  pampered my  nails a little bit because they were looking so rough.  My hands are  so thick with calluses already lol.  I soaked my feet  in the tub after I  mowed the grass and scrubbed them after wards.
So glad to have this foot and shoe deodorizer from Aurorae.  It is a all-natural foot and shoe deodorizer  designed to freshen  your feet and foot gear.  I love that they made this out of 100% natural ingredients and  essential oils.
This product is intended  for bare feet and the inside of all shoes such as sneakers, ballet flats, leather shoes and even kids shoes.  It is Non-toxic witout chemicals in it,  and it is safe to your skin.  My dog is even  interested  with the smell of it.
I recommend this for those who wear shoes a lot.  It's good stuff!  My son is  glad because his feet sweats a lot and now that he is playing tennis, he can really freshen up his feet and shoes with this.
