Victorian Style House

We had a busy weekend.  We went and looked at  an old world charmer Victorian  style home in an inclusive residential area in Weirton.  It's a 2 story  house with 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths and  2 car garage.  I like the  wrap around porch and it's a double lot.  Exactly what we are looking for in a house.
I love the kitchen because it is big and  it has an island.
This country charm  stove and oven are so unique.
Our daughter  don't want to leave our home but when she saw the heated  pool, she got excited.
The agent told us that   they initially had this  sold  few years ago but the owners backed out because they couldn't take leaving the house that they built.  Now that they have to move due to  job assignment, they are forced to sell it again.
The family room has a bar and a fireplace which is really nice.  The only thing I am not fond of is the wallpaper, they are everywhere!
I love everything  about the house except the price lol.  I mean we can  afford it but it would be tight for our budget and I don't want that kind of stress.  We'll wait maybe they would lower the  price and  we can  make an offer.

  3. Oh, Rose, it's so exciting to buy a new home! And sometimes, the price will be lowered, so maybe . . . However, I'd hate to see you guys "house poor." It's a tough decision.

    Happy Blue Monday, Rose.

  5. i hope the owner would take your offer...a house with a heated pool is perfect.:p it looks good, but like you, i'm not crazy about the wall paper, either. they make the rooms seem smaller.

  6. Sometimes you have to take the plunge - a find like this is rare with so many wonderful details like a true bow window, great kitchen and that bar is a place to entertain. Decisions, decisions...

  23. Very fun post! If the house is meant to be yours, it will work out - and I hope it does! It looks like a fun one for your family! I love that stained glass window and the GREAT front porch, but yeah - I wouldn't envy all that wallpaper-stripping! (Downy fabric softener works great for that, just in case...) ;-)

When I was a young teenager, my parents bought an old Maine farmhouse, and my mom had a strawberry kitchen - with that very same cookie jar!

    Fingers crossed for you!

  24. They wall papered everything in Victorian years. It's a beautiful house but would be way beyond my budget.
